This notice describes Geek247's POPIA-aligned approach to processing personal information for support, billing and customer service.

1. Responsible party and operator roles

GeekBox (Pty) Ltd is the responsible party for personal information it collects directly for Geek247 subscriptions, billing, support and website operations. For business customers, Geek247 may act as an operator where it accesses that customer's employee, client or operational personal information under the customer's instructions.

2. Purpose of processing

Personal information is processed to verify customers, provide support, perform remote access sessions, manage subscriptions, maintain security, process payments through Paystack, keep records and comply with applicable law.

3. Lawful basis and consent

Geek247 processes information where necessary to perform a contract, comply with legal obligations, pursue legitimate service and security interests, or where the customer has given consent, including consent for remote support access.

4. Security safeguards

Geek247 uses reasonable safeguards such as HTTPS, access controls, two-factor authentication for administrative access, limited support records, least-privilege support practices and separation of payment processing through Paystack.

5. Cross-border and third-party processing

Some operators or cloud systems used for hosting, payments, communication, remote support or security may process information outside South Africa. Geek247 will use service providers that offer reasonable contractual, security or compliance protections for the relevant processing.

6. Data-subject participation

Data subjects may ask to access, correct or delete personal information, subject to legal, billing, support, security and dispute-retention requirements. Business customers remain responsible for handling POPIA requests relating to personal information they control.

7. Complaints and contact

Requests can be sent to hello@geek247.co.za. Geek247 may request reasonable proof of identity or authority before actioning account, privacy, support or billing requests. Customers may also contact South Africa's Information Regulator where they believe their POPIA rights have not been respected.
